The Palazzo Ducale (the Doge's Palace) was the seat of the government until 1797, when Venice was conquered by Napoleon.
Into the Palace you will see the grandiose halls of the Parliament and the Senate, the solemn rooms where Justice was administered, and you will cross the famous Bridge of Sighs, to go to the fearful state prisons.
Following the steps of judges and guards, passing through secret passage and climbing secret staircases, your guide will bring you behind the public rooms, to see where the most secret activities of the Venetian government took place, where the secret papers and records where kept, where people were questioned and tortured.
You will see the famous Piombi, where Giacomo Casanova was imprisoned, and you will listen the incredible story of his escape.
From the chosen meeting point, we will go to the Piazza San Marco, where I will explain you the Square and all the monuments around it.
Using my pass to skip the line, we will enter the Palazzo Ducale (the Doge's Palace), the former seat of the venetian government, which will impress you with its huge halls, important artworks, dark prisons. Passing through secret passages and climbing staircases that in the Past were used just by guards, spies and the most important employees of the Venetian administration, we will then see together the secret rooms of the Palace, the Secret Chancery, the torture chamber, and even the cell from which Casanova escaped in 1756.
