Discover the open-air museum that is San Sperate
The tour includes a visit to the village museum of San Sperate, the birthplace of the recently disappeared Pinuccio Sciola, artist and sculptor of the stones (he could magically make them play).
Along the streets, we will find several of his works and his biggest import: the murals. These are paintings on the walls of the houses they tell about the history and the daily habits of the village.
Every corner of the country breathes art and culture that meet with the kindness and availability of the inhabitants.
Once we leave San Sperate, we will head to Saint John Grotto, unique in his kind.
In fact, they are the only caves that have a natural entrance and exit that is easily accessible.
The tour starts from Cagliari.
The first stop will be in San Sperate, a nice village near Cagliari where all the houses walls are covered by murals and the road have the sculptures of Pinuccio Sciola around.
We will visit the centre of the village, where you are going to learn how they lived and who was Pinuccio Sciola who brought the art in this place.
We will drive to the Saint John Grotto that is unique in all Europe.
This grotto is the longest cave open. The peculiarity is that it has an exit on the other side and for a very long time it has been used to bring minerals from one side to the other of the mountain.
The tour will finish in Cagliari.
