Declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in the year 1980 under the name of the Fortifications on the Caribbean coast of Panama. With Portobello, they formed the defensive system to the transatlantic trade of the Monarchy of Spain. To get there we will pass over the Panama Canal, Gatun Locks and into Fort Sherman, a former military base, surrounded by a thick forest rich in species diversity.
