Routed through Borrego Springs, Julian and the Anza-Borrego Desert
Many wonderful and wondrous scenic overlooks, dramatic geology. Plenty of picture taking material. We will start by traveling north from San Diego to Temecula. Then east through the Temecula Wine Country, where worldwide attention has been focused for their world class wines.
We will make a stop along the road to admire dozens of creations of the "Accidental Artist" who creates life sized metal sculptures. He is a friend of mine.
We will pass through the Anza-Borrego Desert, Borrego Springs, the Salton Sea, Coachella (where the music festival of he same name happens every year), and more! Along the way there will be many dramatic overlooks on canyons and beautiful land formations.
That's just getting to Joshua Tree National Park. Once there we will find many exhibits of the natural wonders in the park. We will travel through the entire park.
On the way back I will modify the route a bit to show you other areas, such as Julian, a real old west gold mining town. Now known for its apple pies
From San Diego we will travel north to Temecula. We will then follow Hwy 79 through the world famous Temecula wine valley. Wines are produced here that are getting worldwide attention.
Along the way we will see some amazing metal sculptures along the highway. I will take you by the "holding pen" for the creations of the Accidental Artist. If he is around I will introduce you to him. I am a friend.
We will continue along Hwy 79 to Warner Springs. We enter Julian, about 20 miles further down Hwy 78.
Julian is an old authentic wild west town. It was a gold mine town.
As we leave Julian we will pass through some dramatic desert lands, passing through the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Shortly after that we will be traveling alongside the Salton Sea, one of the biggest engineering mistakes in the US history.
From there our next stop will be Joshua Tree National Park. I have a pass so entry is free.

I am a disabled veteran with leg damage. I can walk a bit but not long distances. This should not cause any issues with my tours since they are mostly sightseeing from the car. Walking is minimal.
