Half Day visual feast with a private guide
The National Park Service has recently started a reservation system for Muir Woods. Please let me know as far in advance as possible about your desire to visit the park.
A tour of Muir Woods is a 2 hour investment of your tour time. It's a beautiful 45 minute drive to get to the park. Most people spend about 60 minutes walking the flat one mile path through the ancient redwoods. Then it takes about 20 minutes to emerge back into civilization.
I'm happy to pick people up anytime but I highly recommend an 8:00am pickup to minimize noisy crowds.
People thank me over and over for that.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE DOES NOT ALLOW TOUR GUIDES INSIDE THE PARK. I give a lot of background information on the way and their are several descriptive plaques throughout the park.
The redwood trees are majestic but the serenity is part of a peak experience too. Upon leaving Muir Woods I do a drive through of Sausalito, Marin Headlands and as many San Francisco sites as time allows.
Muir Woods is a scenic 45 minute drive from SF, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. Most people spend 45-75 minutes in the park. It takes about 20 minutes to emerge back into civilization so a trip to the park is a 2 hour investment of your tour time.
We can discuss how to spend the rest of your tour time :
I can show you jaw dropping view from a hill above the Golden Gate bridge, Sausalito, Rodeo beach and wherever else we agree on and time allows.
We can see SF locations as time allows.

Gary was very informative and friendly. All 4 of us enjoyed the tour and saw parts of San Francisco we didn't see with the hope on hop off bus the week before. Muir Woods was a nice finale of our stay in California.
