The Salzkammergut area is well known for its history (more than 7000 years of salt mining. . . ), as well as it has been the residence of our Emperor Kaiser Franz Joseph.
Composers, actors and noble people from all over the world came for their summer holidays. The region became famous and still kept its flair.
The amazing landscape with 76 lakes and the high mountains formed the tourism in combination with beautiful sights and all kind of activities possible in nature, especially in the winter period.
Enjoy a boat cruise from St. Gilgen to St. Wolfgang while taking in the beautiful Austrian landscape. An optional ride with the historical steam train (125 year old) is available on request.

We drive along the Salzburg Lakes to Lake Wolfgangsee. Visit of the 3 villages around the lake with their typical Austrian Style and explore the authentic Christmas Markets.
Christmas Market Opening days:
St. Wolfgang: all week = 7 days / Strobl & St. Gilgen: Thuresday till Sundays
-Visit of the most authenitic Christmas-Markets / Wolfgangsee Advent (3 villages around Lake Wolfgangsee)
-Boat Cruise St. Gilgen to St. Wolfgang
-Romantic ride with the Horse Sleigh (appr. 30 min. )
-Typical hot drink, served in the original Advent-Cup - your personal present to take home.
Optional visits possible:
- historical Steam train up to mountain view point Schafberg
- typical places of craftsmanship, Coffee & Cakes the taste of Austria
The time of duration could be set flexible to your holiday program.
A full day of typical Austrian history!
Please bring warm winter clothes and boots, gloves and a warm hood!
