Helena Z.

St. Petersburg, Russia

Hello! My name is Elena and I'm a tour guide in one of the most beautiful cities in the world - St.

Petersburg.
Even though I'm relatively new to this business, I'm convinced that it is my true calling, and I feel like I've been doing this my whole life.
it may have something to do with the fact that I spent my entire childhood in Peterhof, the lovely suburb of Leningrad/St. Petersburg, surrounded with imperial residences and lavish fountains. I couldn't help getting enchanted with their magnificence. Doing what I love It makes me happy, especially because it also brings joy to my clients. I love both first-time visitors, who are only about to discover the magic of this imperial city, and those who have been to St. Petersburg and are coming back for a deeper sense understanding of its history and unique atmosphere.

My sense of humor and my original approach to tour guiding is what sets my excursions apart. I don't overload tourists with tons of useless dates, names and boring narratives about museum vases. I talk to them about interesting and relevant facts from the history of my city, augmenting it with fascinating stories and anecdotes. My most important job is to make your stay in St. Petersburg pleasant, exciting and memorable. My business is entirely child-friendly - your whole family is welcome on my tours, and I'll do my best to make site-seeing fun for all members of the group! I'm always ready to help and provide inside tips and answer any questions you may have. I'm a very open and outgoing person. I will be that person who can tell you anything you always wanted to know about Russia, but were too afraid to ask. I love my country with all my heart, and, at the same time, I objectively approach any situation and don't indulge in propaganda.

I particularly enjoy leading St. Petersburg Jewish Heritage tours. From the moment I realized I'm a Jew (I was 12 years old then), I developed a genuine interest in the history and culture of my people. I graduated from a Jewish school and my daughter now goes to a Jewish daycare center. That is why I can share my knowledge of the lives of Jewish people in St. Petersburg and all of Russia based on my own experience, rather than not just books (even though I've read numerous ones on the subject).

Come to St. Petersburg! I will show you around! Imperial magnificence and hidden local nooks, historical marvels and the modern pulse of the city are waiting for you!

A Recent Review of this guide

Helena is outstanding. I highly recommend her. We used Helena for a 2 day tour with a group of 20 people coming off a cruise ship. She was bright and funny. She tailored our tours to a few of our last minute ideas. We decided to ride the subway as an idea on the fly idea and she added it. She arranged a souvenir shop to be open just for our group so we could shop without crowds. She is a trained Hermitage Museum guide. Extremely knowledgeable and got us into the museum 1 hour early. Fantastic!
