Explore Saint John with a local guide!
Join me for a tour of my beautiful, historic Saint John, incorporated 1785. Your tour will include a visit to the Old City Market, the oldest common market in Canada, built in 1876. The historic Southern Peninsula, completely rebuilt after a great fire in 1877. This area has been designated a National Historic Streetscape. The Loyalist Burial Ground 1784-1848, Reversing Rapids, where you will see (tides permitting) the effect of the Bay of Fundy on the flow of the St. John River. At each high tide the sea water reverses the flow of the river. Beautiful homes and stories of the families that lived in them over 100 years ago. Fort Howe, site of a fortress built in 1777 and Martello Tower, built for the war of 1812. Rockwood Park the largest Park located in a municipality in Canada, with its 13 lakes, hiking/biking/horseback riding, golf and swimming. Visit a beach on the Bay of Fundy (weather permitting) look for a treasure on the beach to take home with you.
Our tour will reflect the tides of the Bay of Fundy, so we visit the Reversing Rapids at the most optimal time. We will start with a drive through one of the most interesting areas in Saint John, Historic Trinity Royal. Followed by a stop at the Old City Market, Rockwood Park, Mt. Pleasant, see where the wealthy lived over 100 years ago. Fort Howe, Reversing Rapids and Martello Tower.
