Historic Landmarks, City Parks, Outdoor Art, Prominent Buildings
Whether this is your first time to Salt Lake City, or you're a repeat visitor who thinks they have it all figured out, this tour will give you a more full understanding Salt Lake City: its original Native inhabitants, its Mormon founders, its non-Mormon citizens, points of historical political unrest, its serene parks, not to mention its beautiful (and bizarre) examples of public art.
This tour lasts about 3 hours from start to finish, with plenty of stops for breaks, photos, refreshment, and so your guide can give you information.
Starting our tour at Temple Square's 35-acre estate in downtown Salt Lake City, afterwards we can visit our State Capitol Building or venture up City Creek Canyon and into Memory Grove Park.
Next we travel South Temple Street, vote one of America's beautiful Boulevards. Here we will see sites like; the Cathedral of the Madeleine, Governor's Mansion, and the Masonic Temple.
We will visit public art displays, public parks, and historic neighborhoods. Our City Library, City County Building, Federal Courthouse, and historic red-light district!
I can modify this tour to visit sites that interest you. If you don't see that location listed here, just ask and we can probably include it.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: There are Green Bike pickup locations, all over the City. I find the easiest public parking is at City Creek Mall, along with convenient Green Bike stations.
End location: We can end our tour at the same location we started from, or another location if preferred.
Duration: 3 hours
We will be using Salt Lake Green Bike program, more information can be found on their website: https://greenbikeslc.org/what-is
Each bike features; adjustable seats, chain & dress guard, automatic front & rear lights, front and/or rear baskets.
This tour includes a moderate amount of cycling skills, because of traffic and elevation of the City.
We can take less busy roads, but Salt Lake is build on a gradual slope. I try to plan our route to eliminate most uphill climbing, but some fitness is required.
Our total distance, just depends on your group's fitness level. We can travel from 3-9 miles, depending on amount of time spend at each stop. There are plenty of stores to grab drinks or snacks, along the way too.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
13 USD - Green Bike rental for 3-hours is $13 per bicycle, each additional hour is $3 with maximum of $30 per day
