Impressive variety of locations and historical explanations, and the very interesting guides from opposite north and south ends of Russia. There was an opportunity to share in the observance of the faith and the appreciation of the artwork without large groups of tourists. The visit to the contemporary church provided a particularly interesting contrast. The tea taken in an open field outdoors made for a very private and special experience totally in keeping with the idea of a countryside visit
