The Golden age of Sofia
The Royal Sofia Tour is the only walking tour that reveals the secrets of the bohemian decades of the city's history - the years of the Monarchy when Sofia became the city it is today. Art and history come together for an amazing experience. The tour is for the explorer who's always looking for knowledge outside the guidebooks. I'll share with you the real story behind many iconic landmarks and I'll show you the hidden gems that even the locals don't know about.
We'll meet in front of the symbol of the city - St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. On this square, there's only 1 building that hasn't been built in the Royal times - the church of St. Sofia. We won't skip the grave and the monument of the greatest Bulgarian writer - Ivan Vazov. Next, we'll visit a magical church that grants wishes. The former Royal Palace is just around the corner. The Bulgarian national bank is in front of it. A former mosque that's now a museum will be our next stop. We only need to see a historic cathedral and the former American embassy before we finish the tour in front of the National Theater.
The route and schedule are flexible, so together we can create the perfect tour for you
