The Madrid of the Habsburgs
This is an essential tour in Madrid. To learn about the origins of the city and to experience the most "castizo" or genuin sector of Madrid. Full of narrow streets and very peculiar and unique places, the best way to visit it is on food.
Spain was in the 16th century the most powerful country in the world. And Madrid became its capital in 1561.
We will start by the visit of the Royal Palace, the largest one in Europe!. It is very well preserved and you will learn about how was the Kings' life in such a magnificient building. The Royal Palace is still used by the Royal Family at present. We will see the Throne Room, the Gala Dining Room, the private rooms of the King that have preserved their original decoration, frescoes and furniture.
Soon after this visit, we will discover the beautiful places of this oldest sector in Madrid. Plaza de Oriente, Plaza de la Villa, Plaza Mayor, the Market of San Miguel and finally, the busy Puerta del Sol, that is the heart of the city.

Mariluz was absolutely fantastic. She made it enjoyable and educational for us adults as well as our 10 year old daughter. She was fun, engaging and very knowledgable on history and the culture. It was such a pleasure and we learned so much. Would recommend highly !! Barb
