In US I graduated from RISD with illustration and art history degree and also completed one year masters at SMFA in Boston. After my studies and some work I moved to Germany where I met my future German husband. And now I am already five years living in Germany. At first we lived in Berlin where I learned the German language and after three years we moved to Rostock, the beautiful medieval city on the Baltic Sea. In comparison to the capital busy city Berlin I found Rostock to be charming, much smaller and of course the beautiful Baltic Sea is great. Since I moved here I start to work as an English teacher and during the summer as a tour guide. I really enjoyed meeting people from the cruiser ships and sometimes even people from my hometown in the US. I start to explore Rostock more and more to learn about its 800 years old history and it was very fascinating. The city also inspired me to paint, and for an artist its a big deal. The combination of history, landscape and meeting new people who come from across the ocean, gave me the idea to be a tour guide for ToursByLocals where I can share my experiences, information about this area and just meet people and provide them a good time. I can show you how it is to be here as a local, share highlights of the city, places where local people go and enjoy their day, recommend what food is good and tell you very interesting facts about this area. I want to provide a memorable experiences for the guests who visit the city so by the arrival home they have something interesting to remember and to talk about.

Because Rostock is an old medieval city our Tour route includes areas where the ground is mostly cobble stone and it is hard to move around for handicapped people.
