I'm a licensed tourist guide since 1995.
I have a degree in Art History and Archaeology of the Mediterranean area. I studied at the "Third University of Rome": the Art Faculty is located in the Ancient Roman Diocletian Baths - from the window I could see the ancient ruins… That was literally magical! I personally very much like Roman and Greek art and also the Baroque one! Also, I'm definitely addicted to marble!
I took some exams about modern art and mostly about '600, so I deeply studied Bernini, Borromini and my favourite Caravaggio.
During my course I fell in love with archeology and I took part in excavations in Italy, in Etruscan sites and abroad in Carnuntum (Austria), where the Roman legions were in defense of the Danube border.
Since 1990 I keep on with my studies on Rome and surroundings, working with the Cultural Associations of the Eternal City.
Rome is a fascinating city, full of history and art which perfectly matches with the actual living and tasting.
I am ready to share with you my knowledge and passion, making sure you'll have the greatest experiences in my beloved city!
A Recent Review of this guide
Marina is the best tour guide we could have ever asked for, twice over. Not only was she warm, punctual, and a Vatican expert, she also went above and beyond to make sure my mother had no issues with her mobility disability. Her explanations and depth of knowledge, along with her sense of humor, made the trip for us. We could not be happier, Marina truly is the best!
