How the Romans created the most formidable mean to provide abundant water to the City of 1 milion and a half citizens
Let me show you one of the most important discoveries made by the Romans in centuries of their long history: the aqueducts!
This will be a full day to touch different areas in town where some of their work is still visible. Actually, we will have to start from outside the City Walls and reach the " Valley of the Aqueducts", for many they were, and be converging in one single place to have the waters purified.
From here, following the one that is still entirely efficient, reach the "CASTLE" proposed to separate the waters among many smaller ducts, to serve different areas.
The third stop will be at one public bath ( Caracalla's ) built at the end of 100 AD to understand how the people could take advantage of this abundance.
Finally, reaching the heart of town, discover that three different Aqueducts could be restored by different Popes and our being in front of imposing fountains ( similar to the Ancient Roman Castles ) that are still fed by the same waters conducted here by the ancestors.
A great day!
This is a real exploration that needs quick movements in different areas of town ( and slightly outside the walls ! ) that will amaze and give you a real sense of " possessing " the greatness of the Roman civilization. We can use a van + driver but we can also decide to rent scooters and avoid a lot of traffic jam (depending on weather condition).
My basic offer relates to the aqueducts, public baths, and fountains; to be completed within the five hours. But I offer also a possible extension adding the visit inside the Castle St Angel, strictly related to the waters of Rome.
A completion of a very special itinerary: in this case, the hours might become 7 / 8 (to be priced aside).
Exploration of Rome is a well of Marvel and I would like to take you everywhere . . . but time goes by, one day-tour will leave you with the this of knowing more.
I'm ready! Just don't forget to wear sneakers or heavy boots ( in the case of rain).

The rented scooters are from the small kind ( 50 cc ) for one person-driver or bigger ( 150 cc ) for two ( one on the back ) . The price includes the insurance for damages given or soffered .
