Having been to 35 countries on all the continents of the globe, and having lived in Australia, Holand, Israel and Argentina, I have had the opportunity to be in touch with different cultures and languages - and this grew my desire to show my city, Rio de Janeiro, to tourists.
I am a licensed guide by EMBRATUR, the Brazilian Institute of Tourism, and have been a private tour guide since 2013, having carried out hundreds of private tours, and have become more and more in love with my city and with my job as a Tour Guide. In my private tours in Rio de Janeiro I use a 6-seat passenger car.
Rio de Janeiro is a city with a lot to offer: nature, culture, gastronomy and much more. As well as I love to show the highlights of the city, I also love to take my tourists to off beaten places, such as the wild beaches Prainha and Grumari, the Impreial city of Petropolis, located 70km away from Rio, the scenic city of Niteroi, located just accross the Guanabara Bay and to hike the Pedra Bonita hill.
My tours can be customized according to your needs. What I look for in each tour, is to provide you with an experience that you will remember for many years to come!
A Recent Review of this guide
Initially starting a tour at 7.30 am seemed a little early. However Alan was proved right when we were in the first cable car to Sugar Loaf Mountain with only the staff from the shops and cafes at the top for company. Being able to see those wonderful views without lots of people around us was a real delight and we did appreciate it. Christ the Redeemer was a little bit more crowded but we did not have to queue long. Alan demonstrated great flexibility in trying to make our experience very special
