Full-day private tour across Ireland's most scenic route
The Ring of Kerry, a continuous tour around The Iveragh Peninsula, is perhaps the best known sightseeing route in Ireland. Combining dramatic Atlantic coastal scenery with the lakes and mountains of Killarney it is a dream for those who relish jaw dropping scenery and some serious Irish history. An addition to the traditional route is The Skellig Ring, recently acclaimed as one of the finest scenic routes in the world, dominated by The Skellig Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and location of a 1500 year old Monastery. For scenery lovers, photo enthusiasts and history buffs this route packs a punch, dramatically changing midway from from coast to inland valleys. The Skellig Ring will take you off the beaten track on roads unsuitable for buses or large amounts of traffic, and the quaint Irish villages of Portmagee and Sneem will charm you with their unique Irish ambience. This will be a full days touring, but a route not to be missed!.
On collection, your tour will travel anti-clockwise around the peninsula via Killorglin, at a pace that suits you. Your tour will see dramatic coastal scenery west of the village of Glenbeigh. Having passed through the town of Cahirciveen, your tour will take the short ferry trip (if operating) to Valentia Island and will stop for its first views of The Skellig Islands on the western tip of Valentia Island. An optional stop at The Skellig Information Centre is available at this point. Your tour will then re-join the mainland at the charming coastal village of Portmagee and pass through The Skellig Ring - outstanding scenery. Then through Waterville and onto Sneem for a stop. Your tour will then turn inland for the Killarney Valley and panoramic views of its Lakes and mountains. There will be many photo stops on this tour which will last at least eight hours.
Lunch will be at either Portmagee, Waterville or Sneem.
