The Rhinegau is famous for its wines especially the Riesling. The fresh air, the romantic ambiance, the nature and the gorgeous monasteries are all breath taking. The movie "In the name of the rose" based on the book of Umberto Eco was filmed here in Kloster / monastery Eberbach.
We hit the road and see various romantic villages and towns. Not to forget the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz and the Chagall windows of St. Steven's Church or the Museum for Roman European culture, 2000 years and more of cultural history to dive into.

Barbara is superb, knowledgeable and funny. We had a great time traveling with her to Mainz, and to the Rhinegau area. She took us to a few interesting spots outside of the itinerary as well.
