Breathtaking views of moonlike landscapes and stories of trolls, Vikings, and hidden people
It only takes a half an hour drive from Reykjavik to be out in the volcanoes, visiting some secret places only I, your guide, know about and enjoying breathtaking views of this moonlike landscape.
In this half-day tour, I will tell you how the next eruption in Reykjavik's volcanoes could send a lava stream though Reykjavik, cutting the city into two or more parts. The tour is both fun and informative for I have a great passion for the geology and nature of this wonderful part of Iceland. Plus I'm an actor so I know that every tour should be an adventurous experience.
It is an (included) option to start the tour at the Volcano House, watching an Emmy nominated documentary about some of Iceland's most famous eruptions. Highly recommended, especially during the darkest time.
This tour is never exactly the same from one time to another. I like to be flexible to suit the tour to the needs, wants and abilities of the group each time. The weather is also always a major factor in outdoors tours in Iceland and I try to pick the best stops according to weather.
However, what we always do is drive up to the volcanoes, explore the lava, learn a bit about the activity underneath. We always take some "road less traveled" for I love to show my guests my favorite "hidden" places up in the volcanoes.
I will tell stories of trolls, Vikings, hidden people and give you an insight into how it was to live on this island throughout the centuries. We will do some light hiking if you like to, enjoy some fantastic views and experience the remoteness of this moonlike landscape.

This tour felt like going out with an old friend. Dofri was a very special guide who really had an eye for all the smaller details. My family and I would highly recommend him.
