Full Immersion into the 1917 Revolution and history of the USSR
For 70 years of its history St Petersburg was called Leningrad, "the cradle of three revolutions". During this educational tour, I'll take you to the major places where the 1917 October revolution "shook the world": from Lenin's office in a former ballerina's mansion to a Rasputin's murder place. You will see the events through the eyes of the participants and hear their personal stories: from the royal family to Stalin, and from the Bolsheviks to cossacks. We will also focus on social mechanics of revolution, and the artistic perception of it. To connect past and future we'll also look at the ways the October revolution till now shapes Russian society and politics.
