If you are looking for a colonial trip(near CDMX) besides Puebla, Queretaro will exceed your expectations!
If you have already seen the highlights of Mexico City and would like to go further, then the picturesque city of Queretaro is a great destination full of surprises (and good food too!).
Queretaro has become a very popular place to visit by "chilangos" (natives of CDMX) who have found here a safe Oasis to escape from the hectic lifestyle of Mexico City. Historically speaking, the city of Queretaro had a crucial role in the evangelization of the Americas since friars like San Junipero de Serra founded important Franciscan missions here and later in further places like California.
We will explore some of the old missions while enjoying the architecture of its buildings.
In Queretaro, we have the possibility to see wealthy colonial houses from inside like "Casa de la Zacatecana" to see how the society lived in the 1700s.
The trip will be a mixture of Missions, churches, colonial houses, museums and food that will give you a good taste of this city.
We just need to start early to make the most of it!
