I have many passions and interests in life, such as nature, history, art, languages, martial arts, archery and traveling. I also prize community spirit and social exchanges, which led me a few years ago to join the Canadian Forces, and later to become a tour guide.
As a tour guide, I don't really see what I'm doing as a job, as it is a passion for me to share my love of country, to show the beauty of my native city and to showcase our long and beautiful history and the people who have left their stamp on it. Wherever my visitors are from, it's always a pleisure for me to learn about them and make them feel at ease & at home in Quebec City .
As in life, I always opt for a human approach, with a touch of humor you'd expect from a military guy, and always seek to adapt and improve to changing conditions. I am committed to always giving out the best of myself, to get full customer satisfaction and above all, to have fun and enjoy the moment with people.
On that, I am looking forward to meeting you, maybe teaching a little bit of the beautiful french languge and hope to offer you one of my tours very soon!
A Recent Review of this guide
We really enjoyed both seeing the sights and learning more about the Québécois perspective on being Canadian. Jean-Simon was knowledgable about local history and very responsive in modifying our tour to accommodate what we had already seen.
-Tour guide course diploma (Collège Mérici)*
Licensed guide* (Quebec City tour guiding permit)
-Great knowledge of history and military history (current armed forces member)
-Good insight on present life, local issues and politics
-Own a 4-doors car for motorised tour if needed (Chevy Impala LTZ 2008) 5 seats including driver
-Most of my tours involve walking, although I could adapt it by using car transportation.
