I love sharing Old-Quebec's many significant and interesting sites, the role of Quebec in the North-American story and how the United States, and before them the 13 British colonies have played a major role in the development of New-France and eventually Canada.
I enjoy meeting new people, especially visitors curious about my neck of the woods. As a history buff, I am particularly interested in the Quebec religious, architectural and military heritages, the political and economic trends and international events that shaped the colony that evolved into Canada. All of this is still present and observable in Old-Quebec.
I am an Education Consultant to the local School Boards and to the First Nations Education Council. I have been a teacher, educational consultant and School Principal and I am now retired.
In my leisure time, I enjoy web design, graphic design, travelling, writing and reading.
I aim to offer an enjoyable Quebec experience to all visitors.
A Recent Review of this guide
My sons and I were fortunate enough to spend an entire day touring Quebec with Gaston. I have traveled all over the world, and can honestly say this was one of the most educational and enjoyable tours I've ever been on! Gaston was extremely knowledgeable about Canada's history and brimming with interesting trivia and stories about the sites we visited. In addition, he was exceptionally considerate and friendly, giving us plenty of time to explore, offering to take photos of us and tailoring the tour
