I am lucky to work in the beautiful Southwest Costa Rica, which is one of the most pristine and biodiverse habitats of the country. My work is in Corcovado National Park and the surounding Conservation Areas in the Osa Pennisula as a guide and research assistant. I truly believe that is always an amazing experience to share with our visitors the roots and culture of a very rural comunity in the Osa Peninsula Costa Rica.
For more than 5 years I have been sharing the resources that make Costa Rica a green paradise. With my experience as independent guide I have learned to take care of all the details that will make your tour successfull and unique. As a traveller myself, I strongly believe in the possibilities of creating meaningful experiences by connecting travelers with the traditional lifestyle of some the most incredible people and wildlife that inhabit this region.
My priority is to focus on rural tourism, trying to encourage the social economic growth of the region by working toguether with local entreprenours which have high-quality products and services to offer, and as a result our visitors can have intercultural interaction with the locals.
I am also working halftime as research assistant, constantly learning about the ecology of the ecosystems where I am living, in this way I can easily interpret and compare what we can find in our activities, to your personal experience regardless of your culture and country.
Customized tours are also possible to arrange, if you don't find the kind of activity you want to experience in the tours I have to offer, you can always get in contact with me and discuss the different options as I am flexible and open to hear new ideas.
A Recent Review of this guide
We had a wonderful day with Jose in Puerto Jimenez. We hiked through rivers and forests near Matapalo, walked to a glorious beach, saw many animals and birds-- all of which he could identify for us. We had a slight hiccup in our ships arrival, and he graciously changed our time so we could get in our full tour. His knowledge of the flora and fauna is extensive. He is passionate about sharing the wonders of his country. We had such an enjoyable time with him. We could not recommend him more highly.
