Carara National Park & Jacó
This tour features one of the most biodiverse areas in Costa Rica, Carara. With almost half of Costa Rica's birds species Carara National Park is a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers alike. Mammals such as two toed sloths, agoutis and great anteaters can also be seen. However, no one can guarantee the spotting of wildlife. The animals in this national park follow their natural behavior.
We will also visit the trendy beach town of Jacó, where you will enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean while having lunch. Grab an espresso or an ice cream walking down the Pastor Díaz Avenue. There will be time for souvenir shopping before our return.
*Optional tours such as zip line, ATV, horseback riding can be added with prior request, or I will be more than glad to drive you there if we have enough time, and you can pay for those extra tours on site.
Pick up at your cruise ship terminal.
At Carara National Park you will learn about the species that can be found there (mammals, birds, reptiles and even poison-dart frogs) and the importance of preserving their habitat. Then we will drive the scenic route towards Jacó, a popular beach town with all kinds of gastronomic and spa options.
After lunch, spend the rest of the time relaxing at the beach or walking down the multicultural Pastor Díaz avenue.
Return to your your cruise ship.

Our day with Jorge was beyond our expectations. He took us to the rain forest park that was near Puntarenas. He was very good at locating and pointing out the local animals and even found one of the poison dart frogs for us to see. We got to see the agouti and monkeys also. We then went to a local village and enjoyed having lunch with Jorge at one of the local spots. Wayne and I are both tall people and we enjoyed the fact that Jorge had a nice size car and we were quite comfortable.
