I have been a London Black Cab driver for the last 23 years. During this time, I have seen our beautiful London town evolve and develop. Previously, I was immersed in the world or Art and Antiques. My family are the most important part of my life, I have been married for 35 years to my wife Sue. We have three amazing children, all of which got married within 9 months of each other, 2019 was a busy year! I love listening to Jazz and going to gigs at iconic venues like Ronnie Scott's, followed by my second love, food! I enjoy discovering new restaurants in this amazing city. When enjoying time off, I visit new exhibitions in the Tate, explore our markets like Borough and Spitalfields and walk my daughters French Bulldog in Hampstead Heath/Kenwood.
I love being a tour guide, there's a great symmetry between driving my taxi and tour guiding. I love being able to bring alive this wonderful city. This place I call home, it's very much a tale of two cities and the river that meanders through it being cosmopolitan and multicultural enabled this city to flourish and prosper. My family is an example of this, my own father, a Holocaust survivor arrived alone and built a new loving and successful life walking around London streets. Whether looking up in amazement or down the beaten path of historical hero's like Shakespeare and Dickens who incidentally wrote a tale of two cities.
It's so exciting as a guide to do this together with clients any time of the year, winter or summer day and night, to be truly flexible is to be Londoner!
What can I say that truly reflects this extraordinary city? Like an onion, it has many layers, a rich and diverse tapestry, music, arts, food, markets and history stretching way back. There is a reason why this beautiful city draws in millions of visitors each year, whether its the outstanding architecture, reflecting the ever-changing skyline, or our history related to the monarchy, or simply, the diversity in political and social culture, it is a breathtaking city.
I am so privileged to be able to share with you, the special nature of what confronts us. We will explore this city together, my taxi based tours are bespoke and unique, a tour is a memory that will stay with you forever. My London tours stretch from green and musically rich North to down town South where the true business city landscape comes to life. Moving East, you will be confronted with many industrial secrets and markets. Towards West, on the fringes of Hyde Park and Kensington Palace, Princess Diana's home which is now home to Prince William. Going further out to Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Palace. Navigating the streets of Central London is one of a kind, stopping for photos at key landmarks and secret spots, there's a plethora kept secrets that make London a vibrant and interesting city to remember!
You will experience and enjoy my unique company, energy and passion, which is known to be 'one of a kind!'. My main goal, is to ensure you have fun, you smile and enjoy yourself, and most importantly, fall in love with this great city. All my tours can be customised based on what you are interested in, whether that be music, film, art, history, food, or just a general interest in London's iconic sites. A tour in my cab will involve great music, dressing up, should you wish to be in the Beatles or Hogwarts! And plenty of photo opportunities. Alongside this, I am always open for thought-provoking discussions around London's history and many other subjects. Your tour can be started from many locations, whether that's your hotel, collection from Seaport or Airport. I'm really excited to meet you and talk to you more about what you'd like to explore!
