Landing/ Normandy/ June6/ A Day of Remembrance
For almost 4 years, I have been specializing in Private Guided tours of the D-Day Landing Beaches and the Battle of Normandy. I will be glad to share my knowledge about the most impressive naval campaign. With me you'll discover the carnage unleashed here in Normandy on 6 June 1944.
The tour can involve lots of action/walking about/exploring bunkers if you're in to that and depending on how energetic you feel, but a little warning about the weather in Normandy- it could be really nice, sunny, warm, shorts and tee-shirts weather when you're here. It could equally be nasty, cold, windy, raining when you're here.
For my clients I am trying to show as much as I can ( the original weapons, the German defensive areas) adding personal stories, anecdotes and trying to make this day an unforgettable experience.
Normally, one museum is visited during the tour and the entrance fee generally costs from 6 to 10 euros per person. Lunch is as you like, bring or buy sandwiches or at local restaurant.
Tours can be taken to visit the American Landing Zones or the British Landing Zones (Gold and Sword Beaches) and the Canadian Landing Zone (Juno Beach).
Utah beach+ Airborne Drop Zones at night June 6th
In the predawn darkness of June 6, thousands of U. S. paratroopers dropped inland behind enemy lines. Weighed down by their heavy equipment, many drowned in the flooded marshlands at the rear of the beach, and others were shot out of the sky by enemy fire. La Pointe du Hoc + Omaha + American Cemetery (The most powerful, the most humbling site, the Normandy American Cemetery has 9, 387 burials of US service men and women overlooking Omaha beach. . . )Defended by 1. 200 German troops, having 16 guns, 16 mortars, 86 machine guns, this landing area would create serious troubles for the Americans. . .

We were a family of seven (three generations) who booked a tour through you for our day off the Princess a Cruise to see Normandy. Our guide, Svetlana V. and driver, Pierre, were great. She was very knowledgeable and I felt that our Grandchildren, young adults, learned a great deal from her presentation. She also responded to any of my concern before the tour. I would highly recommended Svetlana and tours by locals. Sincerely, Barbara
