Eno-gastronomic tour in one of the most tasty towns of northern Italy


In addition to authentic icons including the Arena (an opera temple) and Juliet's balcony (a symbol of eternal love), we will be travelling through Verona's history and art by visiting the millennial ruins of the Roman Theatre, Ponte Pietra, Roman Entrances, Arco dei Gavi, the Scaligero Castle (XIV century), Renaissance palaces, countless churches (from several historical periods), the vibrant environment of the city's medieval squares and along the several protective walls that surround the city from the Roman to the Habsburg rule during the XIX century. Due to this immense heritage the city has been acknowledged as a Unesco heritage site.
Verona is famous around the world for its eno-gastronomy that includes: red Valpolicella wines, Soave whites, Bardolino, Custoza and many more. The Verona area is home to traditional salami, DOP cheese is produced in the mountainous areas, however local produce also includes mushrooms, truffles, cherries, asparagus, peas and the red Verona chicory.

Itinerary

We will admire the countless monuments encountering during our tour that shall develop along routes that vary based on historical periods of interest. A tour would be incomplete without a trip along the Adige river promenade (with its memorable scenic views) and a visit to the town squares of Erbe and Signori, the vibrant centre of the city and areas that symbolising power during the various rules.
At the end of the guided tour we will be tasting local produce and specialities that are typical of Verona's tradition. Some glasses of special wine will be served along with lots of appetizers and ham.

Meeting Location + Tour Duration

Meeting location: Pick up at the hotel if it is in the city center or meeting point at the statue of Victor Emanuel II on Piazza Bra near the Arena.

End location: The tour will finish in the restaurant

Duration: 3 hours

Transportation

This tour is aimed at those tourists that are based in Verona for work or holiday or that will reach the city by train or private car. We will get around on foot.
