Chauffeured tour from London with Private Guide
A visit to fabulous Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home of the Dukes of Marlborough for 300 years, and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, situated in the charming Cotswold village of Woodstock. We will explore the splendour and history of the Palace's State Rooms, Park and Gardens. A short drive away in Oxford, the 'City of Dreaming Spires', we will walk through quaint and atmospheric back streets passing some of the sites of the world-famous University such as the Bodleian Library and Christopher Wren's Sheldonian Theatre with a chance to pop into some of the University Colleges along the way.
Our driver and I will collect you from your hotel and we will drive approximately 60 miles out of London to Blenheim Palace to visit the fabulous State Rooms, Gardens and Parkland. We can have lunch at a Cotswold country pub on route to Oxford or in central Oxford itself. The drive from Blenheim to Oxford is approximately 20 minutes.
In Oxford we will walk around some of the University's iconic buildings, getting 'off the beaten track' via back streets where possible and visiting inside some of the colleges. Different colleges have different opening times and days so this will vary. My son studied at the University's Trinity College so I have some good stories and we will get free entry there!
From Oxford we will drive back into London, a journey of approximately 56 miles, and return you to your hotel.
