An eye-opening walk with a local guide around the heart of old Berlin
Get to know Berlin through the eyes of a local historian! But don't worry, this isn't a dry lecture. Along the way, you'll learn to "read" the city and begin to unlock its secrets. As we walk though town together, you'll be able to ask questions and find out what life was like across the centuries, from the lost world of medieval warlords to daring attempts to escape from East Berlin, standing on the very spot where these things happened.
Far from being simple lectures, our walks are interactive. We pose mysteries and conundrums (just how DO you escape across the infamous Berlin Wall?) and work together to discover the answers and unlock the city's secrets. It's a great way to get to know your new temporary home.
Please note that I'm quite flexible with starting time.
You'll see a mix of highlights and must-sees, alongside those hidden, out-of-the-way gems that really bring the city to life. For example:
The 5 greatest squares
Berlin's Oldest Pub
The first Berlin Wall
Century old train stations
Site of Hitler's Bunker

Sean was an UNBELIEVABLE tour guide. True historian - clear and simple. He brings the stories of Berlin to life, and You can tell he is intrigued, invested, and curious himself. Personally, I knew less of the history of the DDR and Berlin, than the WWII stuff. After 4 hours with Sean - this family of 5 - had a solid overview of the city, its history, and the political issues at hand that lead to the Berlin wall - and it's demise. The history of the city is truly fascinating. VERY Happy I chose Sean!
