I am born in Oslo and have lived here all my life, almost. I stayed with my family in Chicago for a year, and later in Southern France. Besides this, I've had the pleasure of living far North in Norway, by the Polar Circle actually, but also very far South, in the charming town of Kristiansand. Great places that show the diversity of our long country!
But I've always returned to Oslo. Here I live, in an old house with my husband, also close to my children and grand children. I really do love my hometown. Oslo is a small capital compared to other European cities, but with great qualities. Oslo is a human and friendly town! Our city combines history, culture, art and nature in a charming combination. The location of the capital is perfect between the sea and the hilly surroundings and vast forests. Oslo offers lots of opportunities for sports and outdoor life.
I would love to share my knowledge of Oslo with you. I would dear to say I am an enthusiast when it comes to showing people both the highlights and the gems of the city. I do find my professional background in History of Arts and Social Sciences/Educational Psychology very useful for my Oslo guiding. I have both my higher university degrees from the University of Oslo. As for my occupational experience, I have worked with the Research Council of Norway for 25 years, as a Special Adviser. This job gave me opportunities to cooperate with researchers from across Norway and abroad. A very stimulating job in an inspiring atmosphere of knowledge development.
A few years ago I decided I would use my great interest in culture, history and art to do Oslo guiding. I want to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for our city with visitors and all who are interested. I would be happy to offer you a selection of my favourite tours. But if you have other, specific wishes, do not hesitate to ask - I will tailormade tours for you. No problem! Just give me ideas of your priorities.
A Recent Review of this guide
Ingebjorg was so knowledgable and accommodating, we thoroughly enjoyed our tour. With seemingly inexhaustible energy, we saw many sights around Oslo with a lot of interesting facts added between stops. We had our little dog with us, and Ingebjorg went out of her way to plan a little hiking around the fjord. We highly recommend her for your tour!
