Best of Zagorje
Zagorje is a rural, green, hilly and wine region, home of many beautiful castles and old traditional mud-wooden houses with thousands of wine cells under the ground. First we explore the greatest castles of Zagorje, these are "Trakoscan castle" from 13. century with its beautiful lake and "Veliki Tabor castle" from 12. century. Later on we experience rustic examples of culinary arts through simple native and homemade dishes in traditional restaurant. In "Kumrovec" we visit old ethnic village and birth place of one of the greatest figures in former republic of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz "Tito".
Zagorje is also well known because of its wine. All the farmers cultivate grapevines and keep precious wine drops protected deep inside their cellars. Wine degustation here is a MUST. Oh, how will we get back home?, wine is sooo tasty, . . . never-mind! Locals usually try to spend their whole life surviving under their barrels, so we do!

The entire day with Senad was fantastic! We enjoyed riding in his car through the most beautiful countryside and learning so much about Croatian history, people and the land. The castles were lovely and the additional private guides in each place were superb. Senad was great in answering so many questions I had and did a great job chosing our lunch location and ordering for us. The entire trip far exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend this tour!
