Eriko M.

Nagano, Japan

Hello, my name is Eriko. I have professionally guided people for the past 10 years, and I love connecting people to Japanese culture and the beauty of Japan.

I love Beautiful Nagano! I grew up in Nagano and can give you information beyond and above guidebooks. Once you step into Nagano, you 'll be attracted to its nature, ancient traditions and unique culture that Nagano still preserves. Nagano is not only famous for snow monkeys, hot springs and nature, but also as a city where people here has the longest life span in Japan. It is said that ancient wisdom of fermented food culture like sake and miso are the one of contribution factors.

If you are tired of big cities and touristy spots filled with international tourists, Nagano is the place for you. Nagano is where many Japanese people dream of visiting and living , because of majestic Alps, unique traditions especially in food and crafts. Stay a couple of nights at hot spring village and hike around Togakushi, Kamikoshi and Hakuba is a wonderful choice. If you would like to feel awe and inspired, go to Takayama Alpine route for amazing view.

I am happy to guide you in beautiful Nagano as well as other parts of Japan since I have traveled extensively.

I lived in Canada for 10 years , having studied healing arts, yoga and fermented food. I have a great understanding of Japanese society and culture, and I'll be your excellent guide and cultural interpreter for your time in Japan to be the best use of. My clients often says that a day in my tour was one of the best day in Japan, and my explanation made such a difference to their trip to be able to understand more about Japan from both a historic perspective and how it is changing.

Looking forward to meeting in Nagano from my heart.
