A trip into the Tasmanian wilderness
This tour introduces visitors to the picturesque Derwent River valley; a major growing area for hops, grapes, and delicious berries and stone fruit. You will also experience the stunning Tasmanian high country wilderness.
We drive through historic New Norfolk, and continue our journey to Mt Field National Park. Take the short walk to Russell Falls through magnificent rainforest, or the Tall Trees walk where you will see some of the tallest eucalypt forests in the world.
Weather and time permitting, we can also continue up to see Lake Dobson and the high mountain ranges of Tasmania's World Heritage Wilderness area before returning to Hobart.
In the morning we drive through the Derwent Valley, one of the richest crop-growing areas around Hobart, on our way to the beautiful Mt Field National Park. Visit Russell Falls and the Tall Trees walk, followed by lunch (cost not included) at the Waterfall café. If weather and time permit, we continue our exploration of the National Park after lunch, and return to Hobart around 6 pm.
This tour is flexible and can be tailored to suit individual interests and schedules.

Ruth was easy going and fun to listen to as well. She had a vast knowledge of the area and let us set the pace and was open to changes in the itinerary.
