A tour following the legend of King Arthur from his birthplace to the final battle.
This tour takes in all the key sites in the story of King Arthur as recorded in the first written account by Geoffrey of Monmouth in 1136 - we will start the day in Tintagel, visiting the Castle with it's spectacular new footbridge and King Arthur's Great Halls, where the legend is explained. We will also visit the magical waterfall at St Nectan's Glen where the Knights of the Round Table were blessed before starting the quest for the Holy Grail.
Also included are other key locations including the scene of Arthur's final battle, the place where the Round Table is allegedly buried and also the lake where Sir Bedevere returned Excalibur to The lady of the Lake after Arthur's death.
The tour includes stunning cliffs and coastal scenery as well as the rugged beauty of Bodmin Moor.
Admission tickets to attractions included in the price.
As with all my tours, this can be customised and adapted to suit your requirements.
I will collect you from your chosen pick up location in my air conditioned Land Rover Discovery. We will head straight for Tintagel to learn more about the Athurian legend before spending time at Tintagel Castle. Following this we will visit other key sites near to Tintagel before heading off to St Nectan's Glen. After this the tour moves on to the Arthurian Centre at Slaughterbridge, site of the battle of Camlann. Next we head up onto Bodmin Moor to find the resting place of Excalibur and also a burial chamber known locally as King Arthur's tomb. I will then return you to your accommodation or place of your choice.
There are plenty of places we can stop for lunch and other refreshments and I am happy to provide recommendations. Bottled water is supplied as part of the package. A camera or smartphone for photographs is a must!
Cornwall is a remote and rugged place and some of the roads are very narrow so be prepared for some slow journeys. Also be aware that there is some walking involved!

Peter really knows his history as well as English literature. We saw many diverse sights and he EVEN drove us through the tiny, tourist-congested streets of Port Issac. His driving skills are simply amazing and he was a ton of fun to spend the day with. Highly recommend his tours!
