Experience the Iconic Cornish locations in a day

This one day tour takes you to the locations that everyone thinks of when they think of Cornwall. From stunning coastal views to idyllic fishing ports via iconic landmarks you will visit and experience some of the most spectacular places in Cornwall. Don't forget your camera!
The tour takes a circular route around the coast of the far West of Cornwall, including Lands End and the Lizard Peninsula. We will pass through the towns of St Ives and Penzance but also visit beautiful little fishing ports such as Mousehole (pronounced Mowzel). Visit the breathtaking beaches at Porthcurno and Kynance Cove, the dramatic St Michael's Mount and discover Neolithic standing stones.
Of course, there will be plenty of wonderful places to stop for refreshments - maybe even one of our wineries, if you choose!
As with all my tours, this one can be customised or adapted to suit your requirements or interests.

Itinerary

The day starts after breakfast when I collect you from your hotel or chosen start point in my air conditioned 7 seat Land Rover Discovery. We will travel to the coastal town of St Ives, famous for the quality of the light which has attracted artists over the years and is now home to many galleries, including Tate St Ives. We will drive the spectacular coast route to the UNESCO World Heritage site at Botallack, home to the mines used in Poldark. After exploring the site we head on to Land's End, then on to the world famous Minack Theatre, nestled on the cliffs above the stunning Porthcurno Beach. After an opportunity to explore we will carry on round to Mousehole, the fishing port where the poet Dylan Thomas spent his honeymoon and which he called "quite the loveliest village in England". Next to Marazion and St Michael's Mount. Following some time spent here we will move on to the Lizard Peninsula to round off the day with visits to Kynance Cove and Lizard Point. I will then return you to the start.

A Recent Review of this tour

Winona, Joe and I rate Peter one the best guides we have ever had. He was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we saw the most of Cornwall that was possible in the 9 hours we had together. I was especially interested in Poldark sites and he made sure we saw these. He shared some of his background so we felt very safe with his driving skills.
