Explore the Beautiful Nature and Wildlife of Tasmania with your own Local Guide
The first part of our tour is a visit at Bonorong wildlife park, where you can feed Wallabys, pet Koalas and witness the feeding of the Tasmanian devil. This will give you an opportunity to see the unique Tasmanian Wildlife.
We will head to the historic city Richmond, where you can have a lunch break and wander around in an unique setting of old sandstone buildings. A visit to the old jail (gaol - old writing) will give you an understanding how life was 200 years ago, when the first settlers and convicts arrived on Tasmania.
We will finish the day with a stop on the top of Mount Wellington, where you can enjoy a spectacular view over Hobart and surroundings.

Don't be fooled by his name, his accent, or home (Germany, I believe). Renke is very knowledgeable about Australia, its history, its environment (& what the eucalyptus means for Australian fires), its flora & fauna. Bonorong was a treat - you get to feed the kangaroos & their joeys. If Renke can arrange it, you may want to spend extra for some up close & personal time with a wombat. They are a close competitor to the koala in terms of overwhelming cuteness (& you are not allowed to hold or touch koalas).
