I have been working as a city guide since 2009 and as a tour manager since 1993. It was after my high school and during my university study that I started to work as a tour leader.
Traveling and living with my family in quite many countries and working as a tour guide has given me the opportunity to learn about different cultures, among other I can mention living in Switzerland, England, France, Israel and the USA.
I am passionate about traveling, meeting and communicating with people from all parts of the world. I am a friendly and cheerful person and treat my guests as if they were my friends. I enjoy conveying about the interesting history of Norway and about the colourful culture of the people in the country. Therefore instead of having a monologue-type observation of the city, you will enter into friendly discussion and learn about the country through local eyes.
Welcome to the beautiful city of Oslo, the city of Ibsen, Munch and Amundsen. My tours are perfect for visitors who want a detailed overview of Oslo, for people who are only here for a day or two who want to make the most of their limited time in Oslo.
I am available from 8am - 10pm daily 7 days a week including public holidays.
I can offer historical walking tours, sights tours, art tours and nature tours.
The vast majority of my tours are between 3 - 7 hours in length and we make extensive use of public transport to give you the real feel of what it is like to live in Oslo.
I do have also tours were I provide transport with a private vehicle.
In addition to the obvious sights that every visitor need to see, like the City hall of Oslo where once a year we present the Nobel peace price, the Sculpture park, the Munch art , I will take you out of the city centre to show you the Norwegian countryside. Tours can be tailored to your particular interests, I will come up with the itinerary to match you interests and time frame.
I cater to individuals and ideally groups of between 2 - 6 people, I like to keep it personal but I am more than happy to handle larger groups of 8/10/12 people. The tours listed here are just sample of what I can offer.
I pride my self on the quality of my personal tours, you will never be subjected to these common tour inclusions that are prevalent on other tours.
I will humbly add the thoughts of one of my guests:
" I have just visited Norway with Chris as our Tour Guide. It was a memorable experience. She combines expert professionalism with a keen intuitive understanding of the needs of each person in the group. Because she worked so hard, we could relax and absorb the beauty of Norway. With an expert knowledge of the history of Norway she also has the capacity to bring it alive. If you are thinking of visiting Norway, I have one piece of advice: Contact Chris! "
Thank you and welcome to Norway

Christiaane was amazing! She is so knowledgeable but also so kind and caring. I was worried that my mother would have trouble walking or standing through the tour, and Chris carried a chair for her to sit on as we talked in the museum. She's passionate about the subject she's showing us, but also passionate about her guests enjoying it. She even showed us a fun 'locals only' mountain lodge where we had hot cocoa and apple cake.

In Norway you need a professional driver license to drive guests against payment. My tours are either by public transportation, walking, or we need to hire a car with driver.
