Beautiful tour of Austria.
On this tour you will not only experience the beauty of the Austrian Lake District, including the UNESCO World Heritage site Hallstatt, the pearl of the Salzkammergut, but you will also visit the Sound of Music locations in Salzburg and the Lake District.
The UNESCO Cultural Heritage Committee wrote about Hallstatt: "This alpine region is an outstanding example of natural landscape of great beauty and scientific interest.
On this excursion, you will explore Salzburg and its beautiful surroundings by following the tracks of the world famous musical "The Sound of Music". Start your day with a walk through the Mirabell gardens, famous across the world for the Do-Re-Mi scenes filmed here. See the Pegasus fountain, dwarf garden, as well as statues from Roman and Greek mythology and stunning, formal patterned flower beds. Stop for a photo near Maria's Abbey (Nonnberg Abbey) on your way to Leopoldskron Palace (boat scene and pink lemonade on the terrace). After a short stop at Leopoldskron, drive on to the palace of Hellbrunn, where you have the chance to visit the original gazebo and gardens. Then, leave the city over a small mountain into the Lake District. Journey along the emerald green Fuschlsee to our first stop at Fuschl Castle. Travel on to St. Gilgen and take a stunning photo of the beautiful scenery from a great view point. Leaving St. Gilgen and driving along the Wolfgangsee, our trip will take us to Hallstatt.

Fantastic! This tour was amazing. Thomas is very personable and knowledgeable and pointed out things that we would have never known about. Our kids (ages 12 and 10) loved it as much as us. We have been on several private tours throughout Europe and the Sound of Music/Hallstatt tour ranks as #1. The memories made here will last a lifetime!! Thanks Thomas!!!!
