The Queen's favourite Palace with private transport and a qualified Blue Badge and Windsor accredited guide
A half-day trip to the biggest and longest used Royal Palace. We will see the Castle itself, the State Apartments and St George's Chapel, the spiritual home of the Order of the Garter, the oldest order of Chivalry and one of the finest examples of English Perpendicular architecture to be found in the country. It is the burial place of many Kings and Queens including Henry VIII and his third wife, Jane Seymour, the current Queen's parents, George VI and the Queen Mother. If we have time we might have a wander around the town, see where Prince Charles married Camilla Parker-Bowles and look at Sir Christopher Wren's architectural trickery.
I will meet you at your hotel and we drive to Windsor.
Windsor is difficult for parking with no on-site car park. To make best use of time I often drop clients off at the entrance, park the car and then catch up.
If we have time and the inclination a walk around the town of Windsor is a very nice addition.
Afterwards I will drive you back to your hotel. If you like we can add on Hampton Court which is about 30-45 minutes away and an exceptional example of Tudor architecture with William and Mary additions by Sir Christopher Wren. Click here to see that tour.

I am relaxed about timings so if we overrun a little it is usually not a problem. Windsor is just west of London (near Heathrow!) and sometimes traffic can hold us up on the way out or back.
We will use my modern, comfortable, air-conditioned Mercedes E350 station wagon.
