Cawdor Castle, Culloden Viaduct, Clava Cairns, Culloden Battlefield, Black House
We will head of to Cawdor Castle, wish I believe, is a truly extraordinary place. The castle is very beautiful, has different walks in an old woodland and two stunning gardens, either full of flowers, special sculptures and a maze, which has to be booked. A nine-hole golf course can be a very good alternative.
From here, we will pass the Culloden Viaduct, designed by Murdoch Paterson. It was opened in 1898. The 29 span viaduct crosses the wide valley of the River Nairn and is the longest masonry viaduct in Scotland. It is a Category A listed building.
Just round the corner are the Clava Cairns. To me, this are one of the most impressive Cairn-Stone circle in Scotland and are dating back around 4000 years. I like to call them the Scottish Pyramids (-: something you just have to see for yourself.
To finish the tour, we will drive to Culloden Battlefield, where the last pitched battle has been fought on British soil. The Black House on the field will give you a good idea of the old life style.
We will be heading to Cawdor Castle, where you can visit either the Castle or just enjoy the Castle Ground, including 4 different walks through the old woodland. The Cafe offers excellent food and drinks.
From here, we will drive the back roads, stopping at the longest Viaduct in Scotland, which is a class A listed building.
Just round the corner from here are the Clava Cairns. In my opinion one of the most impressive stone circles, dating back about 4000 years.
We will finish the day in Culloden Battlefield, where the last pitched battle has been fought on British soil. The field also includes one of the only Black Houses in the area. It will provide you with a good idea, how people lived in the past.
From here, I will return to your destination.

Torsten is a fantastic guide! He was very knowledgeable about the area and he was very engaging. All of the sites on the tour were wonderful, but it was Torsten's commentary and wonderful personality which made the experience truly stand out! We felt free to ask Torsten to stop whenever we wanted a specific view or photo. He came with us into the attractions to give us further information when appropriate. Torsten worked continually to give us a refreshing and tailored experience!
