Private Tour / Shore Excursion from Marseille
Discover Avignon, the city of the popes and Châteauneuf du Pape, a small village renowned for its wine.
In Avignon, the major site is the huge Pope's palace, the biggest gothic palace in the world.
I will tell you of the grand life under the seven French popes who built a miniature Vatican during their rule here.
The second point of interest is the St Bénézet Bridge. This legendary bridge is a significant symbol of the history of Avignon, famous throughout the world due to the beloved children's song "Sous le Pont D'Avignon".
In the afternoon, you will discover the village of Châteauneuf du Pape, famous for its wine, but the village itself is worthy to visit.
The vineyards date back from the 14th, time when the popes established in Avignon.
Châteauneuf du Pape is a famous French wine Appellation. It represents the beginning of the Côte du Rhône area, known for its full bodied red wines.

Yoann deserves the highest possible rating -- and then some! He planned a perfect day for us, catering to our specific needs and wishes. From a private wine tasting in a medieval wine cellar to an amazing lunch in a castle set among the vineyards and rolling hills of Provence, Yoann thought of every detail. In addition to a wealth of knowledge about the facts and flavor of the region, he made us feel like more than just a client. He truly made us feel like we were spending a day with a friend.
