A combination of a private tour with great food & wine blended with the ambience of the natural Australian coutryside
The Hunter Valley Wine Region is an enjoyable 2 hours drive north of Sydney. Traveling through tranquil bush settings on convict built roads; you will be delighted to discover the story of when and how wine making was first introduced to Australia. There are also many art galleries and delicious gourmet venues to break up the indulgence if desired.
As Australia's oldest & best known wine region, the Hunter Valley has more than 120 wineries and cellar doors, with some of the biggest names in wine making as well as boutique wineries that are considered the country's hidden gems.
Travel through quaint villages and stunning countryside that allows you to compare the difference between a selection of boutique and bulk producers. Break it up with a visit to the cheese factory and chocolate shop that adjoins a champagne house. Continue the wine tasting over lunch at one of the many first class restaurants. After spending a day in Syndney, we wanted to see some of the countryside and explore the wine region nearby. On the way there we started talking about the wild life and Helen took us on a small side trip where we could pet kangaroos and see koala bears (one cannot visit Australia without this experience). We then went on to Hunter Valley having a wonderful Mother's lunch at one of the vineyards. My wife and I felt more like we had a friend showing off her part of the country than having a guide.
