Private full day taxi tour through the Scottish Borders visiting historic attractions
After a brief southbound drive from Edinburgh we quickly find ourselves amongst the beautiful countryside of The Scottish Borders. Here you will have the opportunity to Visit the magnificent ruin of Melrose Abbey. Founded in 1136 by Cistercian Monks at the request of King David 1 it was built in a Gothic style and is the resting place of several Scottish Kings and Nobles. The heart of Robert the Bruce is also buried here.
Close by lies Abbotsford House, The historic home to the literary genius Sir Walter Scott (1771 - 1832). Today the house serves as a museum and monument to its famous occupant. There will be plenty time to visit the house and learn all about the great man. Just along the road from here is Scott's View where you will have one of the best outlooks over the Borders.
