Visit the Museum and the Akrotiri prehistoric city, in a private tour with an archaeologist
Admire the artifacts and the ancient wall paintings of Akrotiri now exposed in the museum of Fira town. As an archaeologist and licensed guide I will lead you in both sites, explaining you all the hidden details of the museum excibition before I will drive you to explore Akrotiri, a prehistoric city, frozen in time by ash that fell during the volcanic eruption of the 15th century B. C.
The tour starts with a walk at the Fira town, before we visit the museum of Prehistoric Thira. After the guided tour in the museum we drive all the way to the south part of the island, passing by Megalochori and Akrotiri village, making stops to the famous cliffs of Caldera, taking there some of the best photos of your whole trip.
