Full day Exploration Tour in Ryogoku, Yanaka, Ueno taking you back to the old Edo period
You can surely be attracted by these three historical spots.
Ryogoku is famous for sumo wrestlers stables. You may be able to see sumo wrestlers walking around the town during our tour. Edo Tokyo Museum is definitely worth visiting as you can learn history and citizen's life and culture in the Edo period. Healthy Chanko nabe stew, which is the favorite food of sumo wrestlers, is worth tasting! We also enjoy beautiful view in Yasuda garden which is typical Japanese landscape garden.
Yanaka is the unique town which miraculously remained safe even after two disastrous incidents, the Great Kanto Earthquakes of 1923 and the Second World War which destroyed 90% of Tokyo. So, you can find 90 years old classical houses and as many as 70 temples built in the Edo period. You can definitely enjoy quiet and serene atmosphere.
Ueno, neighboring to Yanaka, is noted for huge park filled with prestigious temple, shrine and museums.
You can enjoy walking around there and also interesting shopping in Ameyoko street.

Masaharu was very personable and knowledgeable. We covered everything but it never felt rushed. He has much to teach but was also an excellent listener. I highly recommend him.
