A trip to medieval and picturesque Portugal
This tour takes us to the medieval town of Óbidos, 1 hour drive from Lisbon.
A walk in its cobblestone streets is a trip back in time. With its whitewashed houses and its vibrant colored flowers, this walled town is a treat to the sight. Don't forget your camera, you will want to take pictures of everything - façades, archways and windows!
The visit would not be complete without a 'ginjinha' (typical cherry liquor) on a chocolate cup!
We will then proceed to the old cistercian monastery of Alcobaça, a spectacular 12th gothic building that houses the tombs of King Pedro I and Inês de Castro - our Romeo and Juliet.
Last but not least we will go to the beach of Nazaré, once a famous fisherman village, now known for its giant waves. A great place to have a fish or seafood lunch, if you want.
