Tour of the only National Park in the World within a Capital City
The park is located only about 8 Km from Nairobi City center. It is a Savannah ecosystem comprising different types of vegetation which include grass plains and acacia bushes.
Nairobi National Park was the first park to be gazetted in Kenya on December, 1949. The park is also unique as nowhere else in the whole world exists a wildlife park with such a variety of animals and bird species so close to a capital center.
Nairobi National Park is a major rhino sanctuary for breeding and restocking other parks. It has the famous Nairobi Animal orphanage and Nairobi Safari park.
There is also the ivory burning monument where tons of ivory were burnt as a symbol of the country's conservation efforts for endangered rhino and elephants.

Leo accompanied us through entire day to assure a memorable and flexible trip for us. We started with a walk in nairobi, the task of getting into and out of a matatu and a impressive safari walk with the orphanage where leo gave us wild live impressions...had a local dinner, a walk and drinks in town. Leo is not just a pro to tell you all about kenia (and I asked a lot), treating every person crossing our way with respect. But also as backpacker allover the world himself making it simple to connect.thx!
