Discover the birthplace of Saint Petersburg and ride its impressive metro
Saint Petersburg was the political capital of The Russian Empire during its golden age, that's why it became the most beautiful city full of architectural and historical masterpieces. Ideal for first-time visitors, I will show you the lively life of Saint Petersburg as well as the historical monuments.
We will visit the most important and the biggest museum of the country - the State Hermitage museum where famous Winter Palace is a part of. We will see the amazing official interiors and canvases of European masters such as da Vinci and Rembrandt, Titian and Rafael.
During the tour we will also go to the Peter and Paul fortress that is the birthplace of Saint Petersburg where we will go inside the Peter and Paul Cathedral - the main Orthodox Church of Russia and the burial place of all Russian emperors of 18-19th centuries including the family of the last Tsar Nicolas the Second.
We will visit Church on Spilled Blood - the symbol of Saint Petersburg.
And of course we will go inside St. Isaac's Cathedral
After meeting with you at your hotel or another agreed upon location, we will go to Peter and Paul Fortress, where the history of Saint Petersburg began, where we will soak in the splendor of Imperial Russia.
Then, after about an hour and a half, we'll head to The Hermitage Museum. Amazing official interiors and canvases of European masters such as da Vinci and Rembrandt, Titian and Raphael await us. A feast for the eyes!
We'll take time for lunch before we visit St. Isaac's Cathedral, the main Orthodox Church of 19th century Russia.
We'll end our tour with a visit to the Church on Spilled Blood, the most famous highlight of Saint Petersburg, after which we will head back to your hotel.
The Hermitage is closed on Monday. St. Isaac's Cathedral and Church on Spilled Blood are closed on Wednesday. On these days I will enlarge the tour by visiting active churches and other highlights of the city.
