A walk through the old historic parts of Malmö, the Old West.
We also visit Malmö's squares and hear the story of how the city grew, especially after Skåne became Swedish after 1658.
During the tour, we look even closer at the new Malmö that has emerged over the past two decades. There are many interesting buildings, such as the World Maritime University, Malmö University, the City Library, Malmö Live and others. During the tour we also look at some public art that appears along our walk.
The tour includes a walk in the old historical parts of Malmö, with the story about how Malmö became Swedish in 1658 (it belonged to Denmark before that). We look at the main squares of the city and see some of the oldest buildings and the main church of Malmö. We also look at the more modern parts of Malmö, the so called "New Harbour", where there are several buildings that won architectural awards. You get to know the history of Malmö going from being an old ship yard city to a modern knowledge city with the university, City Tunnel, Malmö Live and Turning Torso, and many smaller successful companies within computer gaming and IT-solutions.
